Home Eczema Remedy Information

Welcome to HomeEczemaRemedies.net, we hope that the information contained in this site is useful to you.  Here we will try and define what eczema is and mention some basic ways to help manage it.  So, what is eczema?, I got the idea to create this simple site because I have been a sufferer form this myself for about the past 3 years or so.  It first started on my right hand, which is my dominant hand because I am right handed.  Anyway about 3 years ago I started getting some sore areas on my hand, index finder and thumb and one other area. At first I just thought it was dry skin.  However to my surprise, lotion had no significant effect on it.  And the areas would crack and hurt really bad.  The areas would also have hard scaly skin that would be really dry and rough to the touch no matter what I used.  So, I got on the internet and first thought it was a fungus because of the information I found.  So, I went to the pharmacy and got some over the counter fungus cream.  This also made no difference.

I finally broke down and went to the Dermatologist, of which I am not a big fan.  “I absolutely hate doctors.”  Or, at least the prices they charge.  So, anyway he took a look at me and diagnosed me as having eczema.  He proscribed a cream of which to this day I use.  The cream he prescribed for me was clobetasol Propionate cream, USP, 0.05%.  It works pretty good.  However if you don’t have insurance watch out.  It costs an arm and a leg, man that is crazy.  Almost $100 bucks for the cream.  The cream cost nearly as much as the visit to the dermatologist in the first place.  Sound familiar, has all this happened to you?

Eczema, is by definition “a generic term for inflammatory conditions of the skin; particularly with vesiculation in the acute stages.”  Well, what the heck does that all mean? The term vessiculation means to form blisters or cause blistering.  Acute means sudden.  Now, there are many different forms of eczema just like any other disease or condition there are variations and each person is unique and will have one form or another.  So, if this does not provide enough information then look up the term eczema pictures in your favorite search engines search box and see if you can find what your looking for.

Anyway back to remedies, what is a remedy anyway?  Remedy is a “medicine or therapy that cures disease or relieves pain.”  Now as far as I know, eczema has no cure and this website does not make any claims about curing it or having the ability to cure it.  However there are ways to lessen it’s pain and make it more manageable to live with.  I am not a medical doctor and myself have not tried all of these suggestions myself.  So, before trying something like the suggestions on this site, please refer to your family doctor before trying any new treatment or so called remedy.

Try these and see if they provide you some relief:

1. Coconut oil, this oil helps soften the skin and provides the skin with needed elasticity.

2. Spearmint Leaf liquid, applied to the areas that are giving you problems may help alleviate the discomfort.

3. Papaya Seeds when crushed up, and rubbed over the area may help the itching associated with eczema.

Each of the items above is a natural product and you should have no trouble getting them at your local grocery story or health food store.  It is also a good idea to get yourself a good lotion and do your best to keep your skin healthy and well maintained.  This can help relieve the flare ups that you may have from time to time.  Also if you have any creams like the one mentioned earlier.  Try and apply the cream just before you go to bed, I guess it depends though on what body parts are affected by your particular situation.

For myself I try and apply the cream before bedtime and use a non latex glove in order to keep the cream from rubbing off on my sheets and pillow cases during the night.  Try it, you may be surprised about how good this can work.  This allows the cream to stay on for hours and get absorbed into the skin in order to help alleviate the symptoms associated with eczema.  Thank you for reading this page in it’s entirety and we hope this content has given you some ideas about how you can best deal with your particular eczema situation.  I have added this video with some interesting information as well.
